Interactions Ltd were delighted to attend the launch of the SICAP New Arrivals Report, which explores how the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) helps people newly arrived in Ireland to settle in, integrate, and build meaningful connections in their communities.
Hosted by Pobal, the event brought together everyone involved in the research to share its findings and celebrate the collaborative effort behind it. The study, carried out by Interactions Ltd in collaboration with The Outcome, captures the lived experiences of Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection and Applicants for International Protection who have engaged with SICAP supports across Ireland.
The report takes a deep dive into how SICAP helps New Arrivals through areas like employment, lifelong learning, social connections, mental health support, and civic participation. The project was especially rewarding as it directly links the real-life experiences of New Arrivals to policy development.
The research highlights the strong progress made through SICAP, while recognising that continued innovation will be key to meeting evolving needs and building even more inclusive communities in the years ahead.
