Attitudes to Christmas 2020
Our recent survey into attitudes to Christmas 2020 shows that things have changed since this time last year.
Fewer Irish people expect to enjoy Christmas this year.
We feel we have more to worry about, with the main worry in 2020 being missing absent loved ones, while in 2019 it was worry about overspending. We conducted this research in November 2020, among a nationally representative sample of 1200 adults and found that buying Irish and buying local is high on people’s agenda this year up from 44% to 75%.
Spending time with friends and family is still the most enjoyable part of Christmas, with more people looking forward to a break and having time for reflection.
